Twice a year, SPSP gives members the opportunity to apply for a Small Conference Grant. These grants are offered to gift the opportunity to promote research and innovation in personality and social psychology, and provide support to members for developing and hosting successful conferences. Members may request up to $5,000 for smaller conferences and between $5,000 - $10,000 for larger conferences.
As a member of SPSP, advocating for the field should never be far from one’s mind. This is especially true for members of the Government Relations Committee who have a specific focus on national policy and the system of research and development supported by the federal government and its agencies. “Social psychology has the unique expertise to help provide solutions to many social issues, but people outside of our field are often unaware of the contributions we make,” says Government Relations Committee member Corey Cook.
Congratulations to SPSPs Senior Career Contribution Award Winners. The Senior Career Contribution Awards recognize sustained contributions across long and productive careers. The Publications Committee and the SPSP Board of Directors have opened nominations for the editorship of Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin (PSPB). The editor's term is typically four years, to begin January 1, 2021. The editor's stature in the field should be commensurate with PSPB's high quality and impact; the editor typically holds the rank of professor. SPSP has committed to Level 2 TOP standards for PSPB, beginning with this new editorship. Details of the TOP standards can be found at https://osf.io/7ebwk/.
